Dear GES Students, Staff, and Families

What a Week at GES!

Our students had an unforgettable experience at the Hot Air Balloon Assembly with Glenn Horton and the Educate & Elevate program, presented in partnership with the Adirondack Balloon Festival. This event truly lifted our learning to new heights!

Safety Reminders for Parent Pick-Up

For everyone’s safety, students should always exit and enter vehicles from the passenger’s side door at parent pick-up. Please avoid having children walk around cars to reach the driver’s side. Safety first—thank you for helping us keep all students safe!

Wrapping Up i-Ready Testing

We are finishing our beginning-of-year i-Ready assessments. These provide valuable information to help us guide instruction and support every learner’s growth. Thank you for encouraging your child to do their best!

And thank you for your continued partnership in making GES a safe, supportive, and joyful place to learn and grow!

Warmly,

Principal Ten Eyck

Important Reminders

To ensure a smooth and productive school day, please keep the following in mind:

  • The school day begins promptly. The first bell rings at 7:50 AM, and students should be in their classrooms ready to learn by 7:55 AM.

  • For your convenience, students may be dropped off at school any time between 7:30 AM and 7:50 AM, and breakfast is available to all students.

  • Chorus is on Thursday and begins at 7:30 AM. Contact Mr. Tuttle if you need more information: btuttle@granvillecsd.org

  • Notes on Lunches: We want to make lunch time as efficient and enjoyable as possible for all our students. We kindly ask that you send your student with a lunch that does not require microwaving. Unfortunately, we are not equipped to microwave lunches for all students, and it can cause significant delays. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us make lunch a smooth process for everyone.

Educate and Elevate

Hot Air Balloon Assembly

Thank you to the Educate and Elevate program from The Official Adirondack Balloon Festival which kicks off this weekend!

Our GES students learned about the history of hot air balloons, met Mr. Glen Horton, a real-life aeronaut, how these balloons are made, how they work and more!

Students got to “help” inflate the balloon and help deflate it too and it was fun way to learn. Mr. Hall got to help too.

And thank you to Mr. Sweet, 8th grade math teacher who helped connect Mr. Horton to our Elementary school.
