This Week's Updates

Principal Ten Eyck (Pronounced 10 Ike)

Dear GES Students, Staff, and Families:

What an amazing week of school spirit! Our students had a fantastic time celebrating PTO Spirit Week, showing off their creativity, teamwork, and school pride each day. From the themed outfits to the laughter in the halls, it was truly a blast—thank you to our PTO for organizing such a memorable week!

Healthy Habits at School

We’re helping students make healthy choices every day! Please remember that only water should be brought into classrooms. During lunch, students may enjoy milk, juice, or water—but no caffeine, please.

Technology Reminder

To keep our learning time and bus rides safe and focused, internet-enabled devices like phones, tablets, and smartwatches - devices should stay at home. Thank you for your support in keeping GES a great place to learn!

Emergency Drills

Keeping our students safe is our top priority. As part of our safety protocols and in compliance with state law, we are providing a one-week advance notice for upcoming emergency drills at GES. We will be conducting another drill this upcoming week. We encourage you to talk with your child about the importance of these drills. Students who are not conducting drills in a safe, kind, responsible, and respectful manner will be asked to stay after school.

Thank you again for your partnership and helping our students get to school on time, every day.

Warmly,

Principal Ten Eyck

  • The school day starts promptly. The first school bell rings at 7:50 AM, and students should be in their classrooms ready to learn by 7:55 AM, or they will be marked late. (If they are late, they can receive a grab-n-go breakfast.)

  • Transportation Changes - All transportation changes for afternoons must be communicated by 10:00 am to the GES Main Office: rheath@granvillecsd.org

  • Notes on Lunches: We kindly ask that you send your student with a lunch that does not require microwaving. Pick-up Line Safety

Please help us keep our pick-up line safe.

When picking up or dropping off, students should only exit and enter vehicles on the passenger side.

Having children walk around cars is dangerous, so please ensure they use the curb side.

Thank you for putting safety first.

USA Cricket Comes to Granville Elementary

The first Cricket meeting took place yesterday at the GES Library. Granville Elementary Teacher, Mr. Rochlani (pronounced Roash-Lani) lead the group with fun, interactive lessons and engaging personal stories on what is Cricket, how to play it and snuck in some history and culture education to help them with state testing.

Mr. R (as he's known to students), in addition to being a great teacher with both a Literacy and Special Education background, is an internationally accredited Cricket umpire and Certified Coach who has taught Cricket to students of all ages and abilities for 10 years --- and he's bringing his knowledge and experience to Granville Elementary!

The 14 students who attended were riveted, asked tons of questions and enjoyed trying out how to "bowl" (think baseball pitching but for Cricket). They also learned about the Cricket fandom across the world and their many, very serious Cricket rivalries.

Did you know it's the second most popular sport in the world (right behind soccer)?! Now we do!
