Shout out to Alyssa Landon in 6th grade. Alyssa started reading at home recently, and just in a few weeks, she has DOUBLED the amount of words she can read in a minute….with 100% accuracy. - Alyssa's 6th Grade Teachers

The easiest way to increase your student's ability to understand text and learn new words is by helping them read every day for 20 minutes. Congratulations to Alyssa and family!

Students visit their school library regularly to check out a book. Encourage them to try a book.

Visit the Granville Pember Library library to get a free library card, pick out a new book and get help finding topics you find interesting. You can also read books (and listen to audiobooks) for free on the Libby App with a library card. (Great for busy families and students who can't get to the library)

PTO Staff Member of the Month

At Granville Elementary - Mr. Baker, our long-time custodian is highlighted!

"Mr. Baker has been nominated for all his hard work around the building. We sincerely thank him for diligently ensuring our school is always clean, orderly, and well-maintained. He is always on call and quickly tends to every single need of the building, which keeps our daily operations running smoothly." - Principal Ten Eyck

Thank you to the PTO for funding the beautiful frames and gifts to Indulge Pizza for our monthly staff appreciation.

Principal Ten Eyck's Tips

The values we hold dear at GES are being Kind, Safe, Responsible, and Respectful.

These aren't just student values; they are community values that must be upheld by all of us—students, staff, and parents—in every setting.

Please also remember, our teachers and staff deserve to be treated with the same respect we expect for our students.

We all have the same goal - supporting your student. We can only achieve this when we work together in a kind and civil partnership.

Please help us uphold a professional and respectful environment for everyone who steps onto our campus.

Let's work together to ensure that GES remains a wonderful place for every student to learn and thrive.

Thank you,
Principal Ten Eyck
