Hello GES Families,

We are doing something new and have started an Outstanding Student of the Week celebration at GES to provide a steady source of encouragement to our students.

Yearbook Club is underway and I would like to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Beach and Ms. Fielding for working with our students on this fun and creative project after school.

Please don't forget to bring in snow boots, mittens, hats and gloves for outdoor recess.

This helps our teachers get all our students outdoors for fresh air and playtime.

If you would like assistance getting warm outdoor clothing, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me.

Have a great weekend,

Principal Ten Eyck

Reminders

Transportation

As we head into the colder months, please remember to ensure that bus notes are submitted by 11:00 AM each day. This helps us manage transportation effectively and ensures your child gets home safely. Additionally, we remind all families to prioritize bus safety measures and encourage students to be aware of their surroundings while traveling to and from school.

***Winter Weather and Recess***

Please be sure your child is prepared for outdoor recess by bringing appropriate outerwear like boots, hats, gloves and snow pants or extra pants. If providing winter clothing presents a challenge, please reach out to the school for support—we are happy to assist with any needs.

Nurse’s Office and Medication

If your child takes medication before the school day, please ensure it’s provided before they arrive, or submit any necessary doctor’s orders to the school nurse and we can assist at school. We understand mornings can be busy, and we’re here to help if you have any concerns or need support. Together, we can ensure every student is ready to learn and thrive.

***Pack a Snack***

Please pack a filling afternoon snack for your children, to help them focus and feel good. Here is the link for some helpful tips about when kids should snack and simple snack ideas.

Student of the Week

New! Here are our Outstanding Students of the Week from last week! One student is selected by teachers and staff from their grade level for being kind, safe and responsible.

Three students from Granville Elementary, Phelony Shaw, Jayce Ferrin and Samara Mestyan holding their Outstanding Student of the Week certificates in the front office of GES
Congrats to Phelony, Jayce, Samara and Madison!

Who Doesn't Love Chocolate?

The 6th-grade class has started their annual chocolate fundraiser. It will run from December 2nd to December 18th.

This year, the 6th grade students are selling three kinds of candy bars: 1. Milk Chocolate Creamy Caramel, 2. Milk Chocolate Almond, and 3. Milk Chocolate.

Each student will be given a box of 30 candy bars to sell for $2.00 each, so they will be responsible for raising $60 to help with 6th-grade activities throughout the year.

Some activities include graduation, field trips, Art in Education projects, etc.

Any money raised that is not used will follow the class into the Jr/Sr High School and help with getting their class funds started for high school.

If you are interested in supporting this group of amazing youngsters, contact a 6th-grader for your chocolate needs. We look forward to your support with this fundraiser.

If you have any questions, please contact your child’s 6th-grade teacher or Mrs. Halnon at fhalnon@granvillecsd.org
