It was great to see our teachers and students ready to go and happy to be in their classes.

Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration NOW OPEN 

Here is the information about the program and how to register.

 

6th Grade Transition Night

Save the date for Wednesday, April 1st for a special evening at the Jr/Sr High for 6th grade families.

Local Resource: Youth Softball and Baseball

Register for the spring softball or baseball for $45 and it comes with a full uniform. Free gear available too! Here is the link to learn more. Deadline 2/28/26

Every Thursday - Community Resource: FREE After-school Food, Fun and Friends at St. Mary's in Granville for GES and Jr/Sr High students 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM

2/27 - TONIGHT! Free PTO Sponsored Magic Show for All Students and Families. Professional magician. Pre-registration required as seats are limited. 6 PM, Jr/Sr High Auditorium. Doors open 5:45 PM. Here is the link to let us know you're attending.

2/28 - Community Resource: Youth League Equipment Giveaway - Free gear for youth softball and baseball from local community group. Exchange what you have or pick up gear if you're new to Youth League. Here is the link for more info.

March

3/1 - Community Resource: Deadline to register for Granville Youth League Softball and Baseball. $45 includes uniform. Free gear available - bats, face guards, cleats and more. Here is the link to register.

3/2 - Deadline to register a class or student for the PTO Science, Technology and Art Fair that takes place on Wednesday, March 25th. Details here. Free to register and participate for all GCSD age students!

3/2 - 3/6 - Spirit Week at MJT and GES - Daily dress up themes!

3/5 - Spirit Night! All school families, community members and students welcome. 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

3/9 - Board of Education Meeting, 6:00 PM, JSHS Library

3/11 - GES Trip to Jr/Sr High Auditorium to watch Act 1 of the Drama Club Production

Spirit Week 3/2 - 3/6

Read Across America Spirit Week at MJT and GES Each day is a recommended short book to read along with a fun dress up theme.

Mrs. Nolan and Students 

Fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Nolan was nominated as the TCT Credit Union Teacher of the Week!

Mrs. Nolan inspires students with her kindness and fosters each student's growth and mindset that empowers them to thrive in the classroom. 

She believes that every day brings new opportunities for her students. Mrs. Nolan's student-centric approach drives her to help students excel in learning, while continually adapting her methods to unlock each child's full potential. She really makes students want to come to school and learn.  

Thanks again to Mrs. Nolan for all she does at Granville Elementary School. That is why you are this week's Adirondack Broadcasting Teacher of the Week, sponsored by TCT Federal Credit Union. - Granville Elementary School

Bus of the Month Contest

Stay tuned for February's bus of the month announcement next week!

Every month, one bus will win a Free School Snack Coupon for every student on board!

February Heart Health Challenge

MJT and GES P.E. Teachers led a healthy heart challenge for the month of February and successfully exceeded their fundraiser goal of $500 for the American Heart Association. 

As a special thank you to those that participated, those students will be invited to a special gym activity with their gym teacher.

NYS State Testing 


APRIL 2026 TESTING DATES

Please note the following New York State Assessment dates. On ELA and Math testing days, students will attend half-day sessions with an 11:00 AM dismissal. Additional details regarding transportation and logistics will be shared closer to each date.

ELA Assessments

April 20 & April 21

½ days – 11:00 AM dismissal

Math Assessments

April 27 & April 28

½ days – 11:00 AM dismissal

Science Assessment (Grade 5 Only)

The Science exam will take place during the regular school day

Make-Up Testing

All make-ups will occur during regular school days

Caught Being Kind

Principal Ten Eyck's Caught Being Kind incentive program is going strong!

When students are acknowledged for extra special kind, respectful behavior to their peers and others, they receive a Kindness Ticket.

The student will bring their tickets to the office to drop them off into our official Kindness Box.

Students can earn many tickets and three names will be drawn at the quarterly student success ceremony called PBIS.

 

Pack Sneakers for P.E. Class

Please remember to pack sneakers each day for gym class!


If you like, you can leave a clean, old pair of sneakers in your student's classroom cubby to leave at school for gym. 

 

Showing Up Matters

Thank you for showing up on time, every day! We love seeing your students in school and appreciate your efforts. Here are tips for dealing with illness.

You can now subscribe to all of the Board of Education updates and they will arrive in your email inbox. 

The Board of Education has a new, online platform (formerly called Board Docs) for sharing meeting agendas, policies, upcoming meetings and more in an easy-to-access manner.

This will ensure the school community - parents, community members, staff, and more can keep up to date with the Board of Education happenings. 

This is a direct result of listening to the community's request.

Free Breakfast and Lunch Each Day - Arrive 15 minutes early to school and come enjoy breakfast before school starts. No registration needed.
