Dear GES Families,
As a reminder, there is no school for students tomorrow, 3/14/25 for a Superintendent's Conference Day.
Communication went out yesterday about Bus Changes for 3/13 - 3/28. Here is the link with the information.
I am excited to share some wonderful updates from our school this month!
First, congratulations to our 4th grade team for winning the first Math Sticker Incentive of the year! The class with the most math practice in the school's online math practice program wins! They will be celebrating their success with an ice cream party. Your student can access this math practice program at home, if you have access to a computer, with your students Granville email and password.
A big round of applause also goes to Ms. Tommasi’s homeroom for winning the Golden Spatula Award for best behavior in the cafeteria, and to Mrs. McNamara’s class for earning the Golden Sneaker Award for best behavior in P.E. class! Keep up the fantastic work!
The PBIS characteristic the month for March is Friendship.
In the spirit of positive behavior, we are excited to introduce our “Caught You Being Good” cards. These cards may come home when students demonstrate extraordinary positive behavior. It’s a simple way to celebrate and reinforce the great choices our students are making both in and outside the classroom.
Our counseling team, along with our dedicated teachers, has been working hard to ensure that social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons, restorative practices, and important life skills are integrated throughout the school day. These initiatives are a key part of helping our students grow not just academically, but also as kind and community minded individuals.
Speaking of academics, our teachers are doing incredible work with engaging strategies, test preparation, and offering tiered enrichment or intervention programs to ensure every student is supported in reaching their full potential. We are truly committed to helping each child succeed in all areas of their development.
Last, we want to thank all the families who attended the 6th Grade Bridge Night. It was a wonderful opportunity to help our 6th graders transition to the junior high school, and we are so grateful for the student tour guides, as well as our administrators and counseling team, who worked hard to make the evening a success.
Thank you again for your ongoing support in helping our students thrive. We are excited about the continued growth and success of each child at our school.
See you on Monday!
Warm regards,
Principal Ten Eyck
