Dear GES Families,

I hope you had a good week.

State Testing: State testing continues at GES and I am proud of our students and families. Our students are doing well and I want to thank our families for helping us prepare our students with a good night's sleep before tests.

Testing Schedule: Please review the testing schedule below. (It is also in the District Calendar). Testing is also a good reminder to tell our kids that they are amazing, regardless of what the scores show.

Bus Reminder: Each day, a different bus will not be leaving GES until approximately 4:25. Here is the bus information for when you return from Spring Recess - 4/21 - 5/2.

Students of the Week

Each week students are nominated by their teachers and staff to represent their grade for modeling being kind, safe and responsible community members in their classroom and amongst their peers. Not all students are pictured each week.

Reminders

***Transportation***

Please remember to ensure that bus notes are submitted by 11:00 AM each day. This helps us manage transportation effectively and ensures your child gets home safely. Bus Schedule Changes for 4/21 - 5/2 - Details here.

***Recess***

Please be sure your child is prepared for outdoor recess by bringing appropriate chilly spring outerwear like boots, hats, gloves or extra pants.

***Nurse’s Office and Medication***

If your child takes medication before the school day, please ensure it’s provided before they arrive, or submit any necessary doctor’s orders to the school nurse and we can assist at school.

***Pack a Snack***

Please pack a filling afternoon snack for your children, to help them focus and feel good. Here is the link for some helpful tips about when kids should snack and simple snack ideas.

PBIS Monthly Celebration

Every month we celebrate learning about a character trait and introduce a new character trait to learn about, and each teacher nominates a student from their class that demonstrated this character. This month we celebrated how to be a good friend and the importance of friendship. Here are a few pictures!

Being On Time for School Today, Prepares Students for Their Future

Being on time in elementary school prepares students for taking advantage of the free resources at the Jr/Sr High.

Please make every effort to ensure that your child is at school by 8:45am and attends the full day of school. Arrive 10-15 minutes early and enjoy a free breakfast at school!
