Dear GES Students, Staff, and Families

As we wrap up another incredible school year, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your support, partnership, and trust.

This year has been filled with growth, learning, and many proud moments — and none of it would have been possible without the collective efforts of our students, families, and staff.

To our students: You have shown resilience, kindness, and curiosity each day. Whether it was tackling a new challenge, helping a classmate, or sharing a creative idea, you made this school year special. We are proud of your hard work and the goals you’ve achieved.

To our families: Thank you for being an essential part of our school community. Your encouragement at home and involvement here at school have helped your children thrive, and we are truly grateful for the strong partnership we share.

To our staff: You continue to inspire with your dedication, compassion, and commitment to every child. Your work matters more than words can express.

As we head into summer, I hope everyone finds time to relax, read a good book, and enjoy time with family and friends.

For our students moving on to new adventures, we send you off with pride and best wishes.

For those returning in the fall, we can’t wait to welcome you back for another great year of learning and growing together.

Have a safe, joyful summer!

Warmly,

Principal Ten Eyck

Class Placements for Next Year

Thank you to families who have chosen to submit their student's class placement notes and learning styles in writing to the main office by the June 3rd deadline. We have taken your input into consideration. Class placements will be sent home by mid-August.

We understand that class placements are an important consideration for families. We want to assure you that a great deal of thought and effort goes into creating balanced and effective classroom environments for all students.

Our dedicated team of educators, including classroom teachers, Academic Intervention Services (AIS) teachers, related service providers, and other professionals, collaborates extensively on this process. They work diligently to ensure the best fit for each child.

How We Make Placement Decisions:

Classroom placements are based on a comprehensive review of available data, including:

  • Academic performance: Classroom grades and benchmarking assessments.

  • Learning styles: How your child learns best academically, emotionally, and socially.

Our goal is always to create well-balanced classrooms that support diverse learning styles, prioritize student safety, and foster a strong sense of community.

Thank you for your understanding and partnership in creating the best learning environment for your child.
