Welcome to the first Granville CSD Community newsletter! In this issue you'll find updates from our schools for those living in the Granville region and beyond.
Whether you live locally, or just want to keep in touch with your hometown school, you are welcome.
If you have a friend or community member who you think should receive these updates, here is the link to sign up.
Be sure to follow Granville CSD on Facebook or Instagram. Our Snow Day announcement videos have made the local news (one with over 84K views!) and we're having a lot of fun finding new ways to reach families and community.

We have a saying at Granville CSD... There's a place for everyone at Granville!
This is geared towards our students finding their people, passions and purpose in a variety of different ways at Granville Schools. Be it in a club, sport, student council, academics, arts, agriculture and more.
We'd like to extend that to our community and alumni.
Whether you'd like to volunteer a little or a lot, or perhaps donate from afar to a student or parent-led initiative, we have curated a list of ways to get involved in ways that work for you. We can't do it alone, as our students spend far more time at home and in their community, but together we can do great things.
Here is the link to a list of ways to get involved with Granville CSD. Volunteers Needed: After Prom Committee
Volunteer to sell Super Bowl Squares at home basketball games. Here is the link to the game schedule to select an upcoming game.
Please contact GranvilleAfterProm@yahoo.com with questions or inquiries about helping to sell Super Bowl Squares (you can find the basketball schedule here), fundraise, or chaperone After Prom. Thank you!
Volunteers Needed: Basketball Games Concession Stand
Attend a home basketball game, manage the concession stand for the Athletic Boosters and watch the game from the TV in the foyer. If you'd like to help or volunteer, here is the link to sign up to manage the concession stand.

The Granville CSD Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) is a big part of the school community. Made up of parents, guardians, grandparents, staff and community members, they do so much for all schools.
From hosting free monthly events, to supporting the Jr/Sr High Care Closet, purchasing books and classroom support materials, coordinating with faculty and staff and funding the Backpack for Hunger Program, and leading a fun event called the Color Run (pictured above), they are an incredible force of friendly, hard-working volunteers who juggle careers and engaging in their children's schools.
In addition, they host a PTO Staff Member of the Month and provide gifts to highlight a Granville CSD staff member in each building during the school year. (Pictured below, Mrs.Rehm, a UPK teacher at MJT.)
Here is the link to the PTO volunteer sign up sheet, to volunteer once or a few times, all is welcome. Here is the link to follow them on Facebook. Or Venmo @granvillenypto to donate to their Backpacks for Hunger Program that feeds over 75 children in the district every Friday, and sends students in the program home with a backpack of non-perishable food.
The PTO meets monthly in-person and offers a Google Meet link to all meetings for staff and guardians. |
