UPK has many benefits for students, families and society.

-> High-quality UPK is essential to helping low-income students do well in school and levels the playing field when UPK students enter Kindergarten.

-> Students in UPK have improved attendance and grades across the entire school UPK - grade 12 experience.

-> UPK also helps to close the achievement gap in math and reading: The math gap would reduce by an estimated 27 percent and the reading gap would reduce by an estimated 41 percent.

-> UPK helps school families increase their earnings by 21.7% or $5,464 per year by providing free childcare.

-> UPK helps school staff provide early intervention to students who may need a little extra support - from speech, behaviors, social emotional learning and more.
