4/3 - 4/10 - NO SCHOOL: Spring Recess - PTO Bowling available during break. $5 for two games and shoes included at Slate Valley Lanes, and PTO pays for the rest. For GCSD families and students.

4/23 - 4/25 - Senior Band Trip (Pending BOE Approval)

4/25 - Free Family Friendly Event: Blue and Gold Track and Field Invitational: Come cheer on the Granville Track team. All day free event, concession stand, at the Jr/Sr High Track (behind the Jr/Sr High school).

4/29 - Community Resource: Salem Community Health Open House - You do not need insurance to attend or join the practice. Here is the link to learn more.

Every Thursday - Food, Friends and Fun! - NOW AT GES

FREE After-school Community Resource - Food, Fun and Friends at GES - 2:20PM - 5:30 PM, Every Thursday.

Snacks, do homework, play board games, and hang out with five St. Mary's volunteers. For GES and Jr/Sr High Students. Limited to 20 students. This program is 50% full. Families MUST register to reserve a spot.

April is Autism Awareness Month

Jr/Sr High staff dressed in blue today to kick off Autism Awareness Month in support of accepting our differences and learning about others.

National Junior Honor Society Induction 

Last Thursday, March 26th, the new middle school members of the National Junior Honor Society were welcomed into the NJHS.

GES News

Granville Elementary is starting free, After School Gardening on Thursdays with Ms. Law beginning April 16th, 2026, right after school until 3:30 PM.

Students will learn about growing plants from seeds, how to grow food and how to rebuild and care for the garden at GES. 

Students will need transportation home from a guardian at 3:30 or they can stay with St. Mary's After School Food, Fun and Friends until 5:00 PM. 

If you would like to register for After School Gardening, please email Ms. Law at LLaw@granvillecsd.org. 

If you or someone you know has extra gardening items to donate to After-School Gardening, here is the list of items needed:

12 bags gardening soil, 1 bag of seed starting mix, 3 hand trowels, 5, 3-tine trowels, garden twine and 20 garden poles (bamboo or plastic)

Thank you to Curtis Lumber and the Granville Community Garden Club for their donations!

If you would like your student to stay with the St. Mary's Volunteers at GES Cafeteria after gardening, for after school snacks and games, here is the link to register with St. Mary's.

Registration is required for both - thank you! 

 

GES State Testing in April 

APRIL 2026 NYS TESTING DATES

Please note the following New York State Assessment dates.

Additional details regarding transportation and logistics will be shared closer to each date.

ELA Assessments

April 20 & April 21

½ days – 11:00 AM dismissal

Math Assessments

April 27 & April 28

½ days – 11:00 AM dismissal

Science Assessment (Grade 5 Only)

The Science exam will take place during the regular school day

Make-Up Testing

All make-ups will occur during regular school days

If your student is opting out of testing, please send in a written letter with specific reasons otherwise they will be expected to take the test on assigned days. Taking test state is great practice.Thank you!

MJT News

MJT students attended last week's PTO Science, Technology and Art Fair.

MJT also enjoyed a Kindergarten Egg Hunt today with lots of fun and educational play in anticipation of Spring Recess.
