Great Things Are Happening at Granville Jr/Sr High!

 
 

Modified Sports Begin

Modified Softball: Tuesday, March 17th 6-7:30 PM @GES

Modified Baseball: Monday, March 16th 6-7:30 PM in Jr. High gym

Modified Track: Monday March 23, practice from 3-4

3/13 - NO SCHOOL: Superintendent's Conference Day

3/13 - 3/14 - School Play: Alice in Wonderland Gone Wrong - All families and community welcome! 5:30 PM Each Night, JSHS Auditorium, $5 per student, $10 per adult at the door. 

3/14 - FFA Sub-District Competition

3/15 - Five Granville Jr/Sr High band students performing with the Glens Falls Symphony Orchestra

3/16 - Spring modified practices start (please see the district calendar and Rooms for details)

3/16 - Jazz Band at Empire State Plaza, Albany

3/18 - Pre-K Parent Information Night at MJT, 6:00 PM 

3/19 - Music Boosters Jazz Cafe Fundraiser at the Jr/Sr High, 7:00 PM - Bring a friend or family member to listen to the high school jazz band play and enjoy coffee, sweet treats and jazz for $5.

3/21 - High School Talent Show - All families and students welcome! 7:00 PM - $5 at the Door for a Muscular Dystrophy Fundraiser by the National Honor Society

3/25 - PTO Science, Technology and Art Fair - Free!

Every Thursday - Food, Friends and Fun! - NOW AT GES

FREE After-school Community Resource - Food, Fun and Friends at GES - 2:20PM - 5:30 PM - Snacks, do homework, play board games, and hang out. For GES and Jr/Sr High Students. Limited to 20 students. 

April

4/1 - SAVE THE DATE: 6th Grade Transition Night at the Jr/Sr High - 6:00 - 7:00 PM. Bring the family! Here is the link to more information.

4/3 - 4/10 - NO SCHOOL: Spring Recess - PTO Bowling available during break. $5 for two games and shoes included at Slate Valley Lanes, and PTO pays for the rest. For GCSD families and students.

Bus of the Month Winner!

Congratulations to students and staff of Bus 130!

This bus carries students to all buildings and has been example of bus safety, getting along well with each other, and being kind and respectful to their driver and attendant.

Students received gift cards for fun snacks to celebrate and Mr. Burch, driver and Mr. Sharrow, bus attendant received a generous gift card to a local restaurant from the Granville, NY PTO. Thank you!

Unified Bowling Season 

The first unified bowling season was a success! Here's a picture of the team at Slate Valley Lanes in Granville. Not pictured are team advisors Coach Katie Barber, Jessica Shaw and Jamie Wright. Go Horde! 

 

7th and 8th Grade Dance Donation!

The 7th and 8th Grade Dance organizers would like to thank Ms. Brieanna Ball, parent of Granville CSD student Jayden Ball, for creating and donating this beautiful backdrop for photos at the 7th and 8th grade dance. It took hours of work and the students and staff appreciated it very much.

School Play This Weekend

Come cheer on the actors, set builders, directors and more at the school play of Alice in Wonderland Gone Wrong, this Friday and Saturday at 5:30 PM at the Jr/Sr High Auditorium. 

$5 at the door for students, $10 for adults. 

GES students came to the Jr/Sr High for a sneak peek of Act One of the play this week.

Volunteer Opportunities 

PTO Volunteer Sign Up Sheet - Always Needed!

PTO volunteers always needed for upcoming events. Volunteer once per year or more! Here is the link to sign up for volunteer opportunities for the PTO.

 

After Prom Committee - 4/11 Coin Drop and 4/23 and 4/26 MWA Bingo Volunteers

Juniors and seniors and their parent-guardians, please volunteer at the After Prom Committee coin drop. 

Here is the link for the Coin Drop sign up. (8 student volunteers and 4 adults needed)

Please email granvilleafterprom@yahoo to volunteer for Bingo (2 volunteers needed per date). Sell bingo sheets, calling out bingos and clean up.

Athletic Booster Club

Times Union All Stars!

The Times Union’s 2025-26 small-school boys’ wrestling all-star team is led by Athlete of the Year Gabe English and Coach of the Year Steve Palmer.

Palmer’s Granville/Whitehall team finished third in a highly competitive Adirondack League that also included Salem/Cambridge and Section 2 Division 2 dual meet champion Corinth.

The Hammers finished second at the Section 2 Division 2 championships, but had three wrestlers win area championships and a fourth qualify for states as a runner-up.

All three of Granville/Whitehall’s sectional champions — Nathan Barber, Chad Monty and Antonio Landon — earned podium finishes at the state tournament.
