Ski and Snowboard Club Updates

ski and snowboard club

We are excited that we are able to do the Ski & Snowboard Club again this year.

Winter is coming!

Ski & Snowboard Club does have a fee, however you can apply $100 from the club towards Ski Club shirts or jackets or toward ski rentals, if you qualify. Ask Mrs. Zinn about this: azinn@granvillecsd.org

You do not need to know how to ski! Lessons are available on the mountain and co-Advisor and parent Drew Rozell can offer pointers.

This is a great way for students to meet other students as grades 7 - 12 are welcome.

Mountain Registration

Club Participants will have to register themselves on West Mountain’s Website:

https://westmountain.com/after-school-programs/

We do recommend the meal plan. (Or prepare to pack a meal as they are hungry!)

After you are registered, new club members receive $100 to spend on apparel.

Wednesdays

Our day of the week will be Wednesdays this year starting January 7th until February 11th. We will leave around 3:00 pm and return around 8:30 pm.

Important Dates:

10/15/25 - First price jump deadline

11/15/25 - Second price jump

12/15/25 - Final Deadline to sign up

End of February / Beginning of March – PICO Field Trip - Experience a New Mountain

If you are interested in joining the club please feel free to email Mrs Zinn.

Varsity Soccer Fought Hard

What. A. Game.

Our Varsity Boys Soccer team went to sectionals and showed the #1 seed they were not going to be walked all over. At half-time, it was 0-0. It was truly a David vs. Goliath matchup — and our team battled with heart, grit, and pride every step of the way.

They’ve proven what determination, teamwork, and passion look like. Hold your heads high, gentlemen and Alexa — what an amazing season it’s been and what a phenomenal group of athletes you are.

Looking at the sectional brackets and scores, most teams with a much higher seeding as compared to their opponent had a greater point difference in the final score. Our team lost, 2-0 but left with their pride intact.

We couldn’t be prouder! - Thank you to April Teer, Parent of Player for this game recap

Varsity Field Hockey Moves to Semifinals

The last time we played Schuylerville, we faced a 1-2 overtime loss. Today we leave with a 6-0 Win. These girls have worked incredibly hard!!! The time, dedication and determination they put into this sport and each other is why this is such an amazing group of group of young ladies. So very, very proud - Coach Barber. Career Planning

Grades 7-12 is an important time to start talking about what happens after high school with your student.

In 8th grade, families can apply for P-TECH, a free program that begins in 9th grade and leads to a FREE two-year college degree in one of two in-demand technology careers: Advanced Manufacturing or Computer Networking and Cybersecurity.

In 9th Grade, families who qualify can apply for the FREE TRIO Upward Bound program to mentor your student through high school (be ready to apply early in the 9th grade school year.)

In 10th grade, students can apply for BOCES which offers FREE 17 professional trade training programs that lead to good paying, in-demand jobs.

Students can take college level classes and we have FREE Early College and Career Academy (ECCA) to earn a two-year college degree in a variety of programs -- all while in high school.

We have Syracuse University Advance Project (SUPA) classes to gain college credit while in high school. A huge savings!

Funding Vocational School and College

Free 2-year to 5-year college-tuition scholarship for NYS families earning under 125K. Guidance has the latest information about Scholarships, apprenticeships, college and more.

Vermont students who graduate from Granville can also receive in-state SUNY tuition.

It all starts with getting to school on time and being curious about the opportunities available, while you're in school.

Talk to your guidance counselor to discuss how to get started.
