PTO Trunk or Treat

Staff, Club or Team Trunk Wanted!

The Granville NY PTO is calling for a Trunk submission from the Jr/Sr High. Can we do it? Yes we can!

Dress up the back of a vehicle with a theme, bring at least 700 pieces of candy and have some fun at one of the biggest PTO events representing the big kids on campus.

FFA Visited SUNY Cobleskill

Last week, Granville Jr/Sr FFA students took part in High School Day at SUNY Cobleskill joining over 1,000 fellow students from across New York State.

Participants engaged in a variety of agriculture-related competitions, showcasing their skills in areas such as dairy, equine science, wildlife, insects, canine handling, heavy equipment operation, and more.

Beyond the competitions, students explored the campus and took part in interactive workshops across multiple disciplines, including Animal & Natural Sciences, Applied Career & Digital Technologies, Behavioral & Health Studies, Fisheries, Wildlife, Environmental & Plant Science, and Management, Communication & Design.

It was a dynamic, hands-on experience that allowed our students to explore the world, learn new things and connect with others who share their passion for the natural world. Go Horde!

Students in CTE classes can participate in this Intercurricular Club.

Career Planning

Grades 7-12 is an important time to start talking about what happens after high school with your student.

In 8th grade, families can apply for P-TECH, a free program that begins in 9th grade and leads to a FREE two-year college degree in one of two in-demand technology careers: Advanced Manufacturing or Computer Networking and Cybersecurity.

In 9th Grade, families who qualify can apply for the FREE TRIO Upward Bound program to mentor your student through high school (be ready to apply early in the 9th grade school year.) This program's funding has been cancelled as per 9/30/25. Here is the link to read the SUNY ADK update.

In 10th grade, students can apply for BOCES which offers FREE 17 professional trade training programs that lead to good paying, in-demand jobs.

Students can take college level classes and we have FREE Early College and Career Academy (ECCA) to earn a two-year college degree in a variety of programs -- all while in high school.

We have Syracuse University Advance Project (SUPA) classes to gain college credit while in high school. A huge savings!

Funding Vocational School and College

Check out this free 2-year to 5-year college-tuition scholarship for NYS families earning under 125K. Guidance has the latest information about Scholarships, apprenticeships, college and more.

Vermont students who graduate from Granville can also receive in-state SUNY tuition.

It all starts with getting to school on time and being curious about the opportunities available, while you're in school.
