Every Thursday - Food, Friends and Fun! - FREE Afterschool Community Resource - Food, Fun and Friends at St. Mary's in Granville for GES and Jr/Sr High students 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM - Come have a meal, do homework, play board games, and hang out.
2/2 - 2/13 - Jr/Sr High Student Council's Project Cameron's Story - Donate a new baby book to the local NICU units at area hospitals for families to read to their babies who are too sick or small to hold or touch, they can still bond with reading. If you would like to participate, here is a link to the Granville CSD wishlist for Cameron's Story.
2/9 - Board of Education Meeting, 6pm, JSHS Library 2/10 - Community Resource: Free Parenting Class from the Comfort of Your Own Home 2/11 - Spring Sports Registration on Aktivate Opens. Visit the Athletics page for signing in to select a spring sport for your student (if you already have an account) or register for an account if you have not used it before. All sport paperwork is now done through Aktivate. 2/11 - PTO Meeting - All staff and families welcome! Volunteer whenever you can on this new PTO Volunteer sign up sheet. 2/13 - Jr/Sr High Jazz Band Tour at GES and MJT
2/14 - 2/22 - PTO Sponsored Bowling at Slate Valley Lanes - $5 for two games and shoe rental, PTO pays the rest. 2/16 - 2/20 - NO SCHOOL: Mid-Winter Recess
2/24 - Community Resource: Free Parenting Class from the Comfort of Your Own Home 2/27- 7th and 8th Grade Dance, 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM. $5 at the door. Disco theme.
2/27 - Free PTO Sponsored Magic Show for All Students and Families. Pre-registration required as seats are limited. 6 PM, Jr/Sr High Auditorium. Doors open 5:45 PM. Here is the link to let us know you're attending.

After Prom Committee
After Prom is accepting donations for the After Prom fund to keep students safe on school grounds after the dance. If you would like to donate to After Prom, your time, skills or a monetary gift to go towards the event, please feel free to contact granvilleafterprom@yahoo.com
Basketball Games Concession Stand
Attend a home basketball game, manage the concession stand for the Athletic Boosters and watch the game from the TV in the foyer. If you'd like to help or volunteer (there is a TV that streams the games by the Concession Stand), here is the link to sign up to manage the concession stand.

PTO Care Closet Donation Wish List
The Jr/Sr High has a Care Closet in the Jr High Guidance office with free personal hygiene items available for students who may need to fill in the gaps. Students can stop by and shop for free anytime. The PTO is looking for three families or local businesses to donate lip balm, deodorants and shampoo/conditioner sets at approximately $20 - $30 per donation. Shop locally and drop off at the District Office (c/o Karin Rozell) or select from this PTO Amazon Wishlist. Thank you!

Sports Recap from Border Country Sports, by Keith Harrington
G-W Wears the Ken Baker Tournament Crown, Monty and Landon Place First
The Granville-Whitehall wrestling team claimed the crown of the prestigious Ken Baker Inviational Tournament on Saturday. Two Quarrier grapplers won their weight class, while several others registered podium finishes.
G-W recorded 166 ½ team points. Salem-Cambridge was second with 159 points.
CJ Monty won the championship at 215 pounds. Monty edged Cody Alessi of Ichabod Crane 2-1 in a tiebreaker.
AJ Landon earned the title at 285 with a 4-0 victory over Ichabod Crane's Austin Brinkman.
Mason Heckman was runner-up at 110 for the Quarriers. Nathan Barber placed second at 150 pounds.
Other G-W wrestlers to place were Derek Saxton, who was third at 138, Carter Lehoisky, who was fourth at 118, Matthew Ayers, who was fourth at 190, and Maximus Hollister, who was fifth at 132. |

Ski and Snowboard Club at West Mountain |
The Ski and Snowboard Club is having fun despite the freezing temperatures. Here are some of the members pictured below.
Join the club next year and if you're new to skiing sign up for a lesson or two at West Mountain as part of your package.
The club and other schools in the area fill the mountain each Wednesday for food and outdoor fun. Lots of socializing, outdoor time and making new friends across the grades. |
