Great Things Are Happening at Granville Jr/Sr High!
|
Principal Nassivera sent home a letter encouraging families and students to finish strong in the final three months of the school year.
Spring brings warm weather and it can be easy to get distracted and coast into June.
Don't coast, finish strong!
Here a few school tips from Principal Nassivera:
Attendance Matters
Show up on time, every day. (It's practice for your future success!) Limit absences to true emergencies and communicate with staff if your student needs help with attendance.
Grades Can Still Improve
We still have time! The final quarter is an excellent opportunity for students to raise their grades and end the school year with a sense of pride. Talk with teachers, take advantage of extra help and review each week what's ahead and the feedback teachers provide.
Finishing Strong
The habits students build now - dedication, persistence, and follow-through; will serve them well beyond this school year. Check in regularly with their progress; create a quiet corner of your home for study and homework, and celebrate any progress with encouraging words.
Please reach out to a teacher, guidance or the principal or review the free resources on the Community School page for many free resources for families and students.
Go Horde!

Congratulations to students and staff of Bus 127!
This bus carries students to all buildings and has been example of bus safety, getting along well with each other, and being kind and respectful to their driver.
Getting along with others, accepting each other’s differences and being respectful to your driver goes a long way and will continue to serve you well in life.
All students received a special treat of appreciation for steady improvements in bus behavior and bus safety - Scarlotta’s Car Hop coupons for Jr/Sr High students and coupons for a school snack or ice cream at MJT and GES!
Bus Driver, Mr. Juckett received the Energy Bus book from the Granville, NY PTO and a a beautiful gift bag full of Rathbun's Maple Sugar House goods and a gift certificate to Rathbun’s too courtesy of Wendy Rathbun. Thank you! Go Horde!
Who will win for April? Stay tuned!

"On March 31st, SUNY Plattsburgh Model OAS class visited Washington, D.C.
During this trip the class attended a tour and briefing at the OAS Headquarters, toured the US Capitol, visited Smithsonian Museums, the Library of Congress, and walked the National Mall to see the famous cherry blossoms around the tidal basin.
At the end of the semester, the students will serve as delegates of Haiti and St. Kitts/Nevis in a simulated meeting of the Organization of American States General Assembly held on campus at SUNY Plattsburgh."
- Mr. Cosey, Advanced Placement Social Studies Teacher, Jr/Sr High
A big thank you to Jr/Sr High Teachers, Ean Ward and Jamie Bunker for chaperoning with Mr. Cosey.
