Dear MJT Families,

It was wonderful to see so many of you at Open House this week!  We had over 160 families show up, and our teachers and staff truly enjoyed connecting with you all.  We hope you enjoyed your visit!

You may see an officer from the Washington County Sheriff's Department here from time to time.  We have deputies filling in for our School Resource Officer (SRO) position.  They visit each building several times daily, connect with students, check the grounds and facilities, and support our routines and procedures.   Feel free to wave and say hello if you see them!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,

Mrs. Taylor

Principal, Mary J. Tanner

Morning Arrival and Schedule

The MJT Lee Road AM drop off time is 7:45 am - 8:00 am only.

Class starts at 8:00 am.

MJT staff go back into the building at precisely 8:00 am to start classes.

This means there are no MJT staff members available to let you student in the door after 8:00 am at the Lee Road Drop Off.

If you arrive after 8:00 am and see an orange rope up at the MJT Lee Road drop off, please drive your student to the front of the building and walk them in through the main entrance.

Please also note, you cannot leave your student with a Head Start staff member and must walk them in through the main entrance.

Please share this with any other adult who may do the morning drop off with your student.

The safety of our students is our top priority, and we appreciate your cooperation.

Thank you,
MJT Staff

Talking About School

As a parent, it can be hard to get your student to tell you about their day, aside from the usual brief answers.

Here are some ways to encourage your student to tell you about their day:

  • Tell me something fun you did in math today?

  • What special class did you have today?

  • What was one thing that made you feel really happy?

  • Tell me about the friends you played with on the playground.
