Dear MJT Families,

Our new playground is officially up and running!  This week students were able to enjoy some fun on the new equipment, and we even have some new shade canopies for when the sun is blazing.

2025 Summer Academy Information:

This year's program will be similar to last year.  At this time, we will only be sending invites for students who qualify based on academic needs due to a limited amount of space per class.  If the opportunity to invite more students should come about, you will be notified.  Invites will be mailed out later next week.  If you receive one, please return the paperwork as soon as possible so that we can get a count for how many students will be attending.  The program runs Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8-11 each week (July 8-August 7).  Our program will be held at the High School this year.

UPK and Kindergarten Screening:

-Kindergarten Screening will be held on 5/7 and 5/8 by appointment only.  Please note that this screening is ONLY for students who are not currently enrolled in our UPK program.

-UPK Screening will be held on 5/14 and 5/15 by appointment only.  If you need help with registering your child, please reach out to Bridget Liebig at bliebig@granvillecsd.org.

School Bus Schedule Updates: An update was made to the schedule for 5/1 - 5/9. Here is the latest bus schedule information.

Attendance Tip

Being on Time in Primary School Prepares Your Student for their Future

Consistent or frequent tardiness can cause students to fall behind quickly, and it makes it hard for them to learn reading, math and make friends.  Likewise, frequently picking students up before the end of their scheduled day can cause them to fall behind and feel discouraged as well. Please make every effort to ensure that your child is at school by 9:00.  Thank you!  Arrive to school 10-15 minutes early for a free breakfast!

Reminders

Dismissal Plans

If your child will need a different dismissal plan than usual, please be sure to send in a note in the morning, or to give the main office a call prior to 12:00.  This ensures that dismissal can go smoothly for your student.

Snacks

Please pack a filling afternoon snack for your children, thank you! Click this link for some helpful tips about when kids should snack and simple snack ideas. Snack Money - If you are sending in snack money with your student, please be sure to put it in a baggy or envelope.  You can also scan the QR code on the bottom of the lunch menu to add money directly to their lunch account. To add money to your child's account, sign into MySchoolBucks.com with your student's ID. (To find your child's ID, look at your child's printed schedule sent home at the beginning of the year, log into eSchool or please call the main office.)

Chilly Spring Weather and Recess

Please be sure your child is prepared for outdoor recess by bringing appropriate outerwear like boots, hats, gloves and or extra pants. If providing outdoor clothing presents a challenge, please reach out to the school for support—we are happy to assist with any needs.

Does Your Child Need Extra Support?

Please do not hesitate to contact your student's teacher and ask for assistance and resources that you can do at home. Here is our staff directory. Here is the Community School page with bonus resources for academics and more.

Internet and Media Safety Tips for Families

Consider putting children's phones and tablets on downtime after bedtime. (You can learn how on the Community School page, under free internet and media safety resources.)

No Toys and Phones

As a reminder, toys from home are not allowed at school. Likewise, cell phones for MJT students are not permitted at school or on the bus.  If a student MUST bring a phone to school for the purpose of going to a different home after school, it must stay off and in their backpack at all times.
