FFA

A group of students face an EnCon Officer as he presents.

"A huge thank you to Officer Krug from the NY Environmental Conservation Police for taking the time to come speak with our FFA students today at the Jr/Sr High!

Our students had the opportunity to learn more about what it takes to become an EnCon Officer, including the education, training, responsibilities, and skills needed for this unique career.

It was a great opportunity for students to hear directly from someone in the field and get a better understanding of the many career paths available in conservation, agriculture, and natural resources.

Thank you, Officer Krug, for sharing your time, knowledge, and experience with our students! We truly appreciate you helping us connect classroom learning with real-world careers. "

- Ms. Cahan, Ag Teacher and Granville FFA Chapter Leader

See the Career Planning page on the website for links on how to become a EnCon Officer and more career opportunities.

Ski and Snowboard Club - Early Bird Rate

Three ski students and ski club advisor pose for a picture in their ski gear, helmets with flurries of snow.

We are excited that we are able to do the Ski & Snowboard Club again this year.

Ski & Snowboard Club does cost money, but we do have a scholarship and reimbursement program if you qualify. (Please contact Mrs. Zinn for scholarship.)

How it Works

Every Wednesday, beginning January 6th until February 10th, the club will leave the Jr/Sr High around 3:00 pm and return around 8:30 pm with bus transportation.

This club is open to grades 7 - 12 and is a great way for students to make friends across grade levels.

You can rent skis/snowboard for the season at West Mountain (include as a package add-on when registering) or try Inside Edge Ski Shop in Queensbury, NY.

Registration is now open!

Club Participants will have to register themselves on West Mountain’s Website : https://westmountain.com/after-school-programs/

We do recommend adding the meal plan to the registration, or plan on packing a dinner each week.

After you are registered, new club members receive $100 to spend on Granville Ski and Snowboard club apparel.

Important Registration Dates:

10/15/26 - First price jump deadline

11/15/26 - Second price jump

12/15/26 - Final Deadline to sign up

End of February / Beginning of March – PICO Field Trip - experience a new mountain.

If you have any friends who may be interested in joining please have them reach out to Mrs. Zinn with any questions.

If you are a brand new skier or snowboarder, for safety reasons we recommend adding a lesson package to your registration, or one private lesson the first time on the mountain, and staying on the beginner runs. Mr. Rozell attends as an assistant to the club and is available for skiing tips as well.

If you have any questions please feel free to email Mrs Zinn.

3 Tips for Families

Try These 3 Family Routines

Monthly
- Check the live school calendar on the school website or in the school App once per month and jot down important dates and events in your family calendar.

Weekly - Double-check the live school calendar each weekend for updates and new opportunities.

Daily - Post your family's weekly schedule of school, work and appointments in your home to view and check daily. A whiteboard, repurposed chalkboard or piece of paper works! Or go digital with a free shared family calendar App.

3 Tips for Students

1) Check Your "Granville Bookmarks" Weekly

Your Chromebook navigation bar has a "Granville Bookmarks" folder in the top-left corner. It’s your all-in-one spot for Gmail, Google Classroom, eSchool, homework calendars, and game schedules. Set a recurring weekend reminder on your phone to check it so you're always ready for the week ahead!

2) Make a "School" Folder on Your Phone

Keep your links handy even when you don't have your Chromebook. Open your favorite school sites (like eSchool) in your phone browser, tap your menu options, and select "Add to Home Screen." Then, drag those app shortcuts on top of each other to form a folder and name it "School."

3) Pick ONE Way to Track Your Work

Don't rely on memory alone. Find a single reminder system that works for your brain! Here are a few easy options to try:

Paper Planner or Notebook: Grab a free planner from the Jr. High Guidance office, or use a dedicated notebook just for due dates.

Binder Action Section: Set aside one front folder pocket in your daily binder for active assignment lists.

Digital Tools: Use Google Calendar, Google Tasks, or a free phone notes app to log due dates as soon as you get them.
